Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract is derived from the fruit of the prickly ash (Zanthoxylum piperitum, Rutaceae), also known as Japanese Pepper, Korean Pepper, or Sanshō. Its CAS number is 97404-53-0. It is commonly found in K-Beauty formulations, notably as one of three extracts comprising the natural Korean preservative system EURO-NApre, alongside Usnea Barbata and Pulsatilla Koreana. The fruit contains active components including hyperoside and quercitrin, as well as fragrant components Limonene and Citronene.
