Yellow 11 (CI 47000) is a synthetic colorant used in cosmetic and personal care formulations. Its chemical name is 2-(2-Quinolyl)-1H-Indene-1,3(2H)-Dione, and it is also identified as the reaction product of methylquinoline and quinoline with 1,3-isobenzofurandione. It carries CAS numbers 83-08-9 and 8003-22-3. According to CosIng, its sole listed function is as a cosmetic colorant.
