● Benefits

As part of the Aquaxyl complex (at 3%), xylitylglucoside is reported to increase water content in the outer skin layer both immediately and long-term, improve the appearance of cracked and dry skin, and support the skin barrier by promoting lipid (ceramides and cholesterol) and protein synthesis. A comparative study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that 4% Aquaxyl performed comparably to urea as a humectant in a hydrogel formula.
