Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract
Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter (also known as Cocoa Seed Butter) is a yellowish-white solid fat obtained from the roasted seeds of the cocoa plant, Theobroma cacao L. It is solid at room temperature and melts upon skin contact. It is rich in fatty acids — primarily oleic (35%), stearic (34%), and palmitic (25%) — and also contains antioxidant vitamin E and polyphenols.

Cocoa butter is a rich emollient that can moisturize and nourish even very dry skin, such as chapped hands or lips. Its polyphenols have been shown in an ex-vivo study to improve skin tone, elasticity, GAG levels, and collagen synthesis at 0.5–0.75% concentration, performing comparably to a commercial high-end moisturizer.
