PPG-26-Buteth-26

PPG-26-Buteth-26 is a polymeric ether derived from propylene oxide and ethylene oxide with a monobutyl ether end group (CAS #9038-95-3 / 9065-63-8). It is a helper ingredient most commonly used in combination with PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil. Together, the two function as surfactants and oil solubilizers, effective at low concentrations and non-sticky in texture. It is frequently employed to solubilize fragrance components into water-based formulas.

● Benefits

When paired with PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PPG-26-Buteth-26 helps incorporate oil-soluble ingredients (such as fragrance components) into water-based formulations without leaving a sticky residue. It also provides minor hair and skin conditioning properties as listed in its official CosIng functions.
