Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate

Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (CAS 477773-67-4) is a water-soluble derivative of azelaic acid combined with the amino acid glycine. Unlike azelaic acid itself, which is insoluble in both water and oil, this derivative is easily incorporated into a wide range of cosmetic formulations. It is classified under skin conditioning by CosIng and is used as a multi-functional active targeting pigmentation, acne, and redness.

● Benefits

It inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production, providing skin-brightening effects. It also demonstrates sebum-normalizing activity relevant to acne-prone skin, and carries the anti-inflammatory properties associated with its parent compound, azelaic acid. Clinical studies have shown improvement in rosacea and melasma when used in combination with other actives.

● Cautions

Available clinical studies combined Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate with other actives, making it difficult to isolate its individual contribution; efficacy claims are largely based on manufacturer data and limited combination-therapy research.
