Phytosqualane

Phytosqualane is the plant-derived form of squalane, a saturated hydrocarbon (consisting only of carbon and hydrogen) with no double bonds, making it a stable oily liquid with a long shelf life. It occurs naturally in certain plant oils (e.g. olive) and is also found in human sebum. Its saturated nature distinguishes it from the less stable unsaturated counterpart, squalene.
