PEG-100 Stearate

PEG-100 Stearate is a water-loving (hydrophilic) surfactant and emulsifier derived from stearic acid with a polyethylene glycol chain of approximately 100 ethylene oxide units (CAS #9004-99-3). It helps keep water and oil mixed together in formulations. It is frequently paired with glyceryl stearate to form an effective emulsifier duo that is salt- and acid-tolerant and functional across a wide pH range. It also contributes to pleasing product aesthetics.

● Benefits

Primarily functions as an emulsifier to stabilize oil-in-water formulations, keeping water and oil phases uniformly blended. When combined with glyceryl stearate, it forms a particularly robust emulsifier system tolerant of salt, acid, and a wide pH range. It also improves the sensory feel and aesthetics of cosmetic products.
