Olive Oil
Olea Europaea Fruit Oil is the fixed oil obtained from the ripe fruit of the olive (Olea europaea L., Oleaceae). It consists primarily of glycerides of fatty acids — mainly oleic acid (55–83%), along with linoleic (3.5–20%) and palmitic acids (7–20%). It also contains antioxidant polyphenols, tocopherols (vitamin E), carotenoids, and is noted as one of the best plant sources of the skin-identical emollient squalene. Its official CosIng functions are listed as masking, perfuming, and skin conditioning.
Olive oil moisturizes and nourishes the skin, making it particularly suitable for dry skin types. Its rich fatty acid profile and antioxidant compounds (polyphenols, tocopherols, carotenoids) support skin conditioning and protection. It is considered a great emollient option, though less suitable for acne-prone or damaged skin.
Less suitable for acne-prone or damaged skin due to its comedogenic potential (rated 0–2). Not recommended as a primary moisturizer for those prone to breakouts.
