Ethylhexyl Salicylate (also known as Octisalate or Octyl Salicylate) is a colorless to light yellowish oily liquid used as a chemical UV filter. It absorbs UVB radiation in the 280–320 nm range with a peak absorbance at 306 nm. It is permitted at a maximum concentration of 5% in both the US and Europe, and up to 10% in Japan.
