Madecassic Acid

Madecassic acid (CAS 18449-41-7) is a triterpenoid compound and one of the biologically active components of Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica). Its IUPAC name is Urs-12-En-28-Oic Acid, 2,3,6,23-Tetrahydroxy-, (2Alpha,3Beta,4Alpha,6Beta)-. It is closely related to other Centella asiatica actives such as madecassoside, asiaticoside, and asiatic acid. According to CosIng, its official function is skin conditioning.
