Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate
Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate (also known as Amiloxate or Neo Heliopan E1000) is an oil-soluble chemical sunscreen agent with CAS # 71617-10-2. It primarily protects in the UVB range (290–320 nm) with a peak absorbance at 310 nm, and provides some additional protection in the UVA II range (320–340 nm). It is a newer generation UV filter approved at up to 10% concentration in the EU, but is not currently available in the US due to FDA regulatory constraints.
Provides UVB protection (290–320 nm) with peak absorbance at 310 nm, along with some supplementary UVA II (320–340 nm) coverage. As an oil-soluble filter, it is suitable for incorporation into a range of sunscreen formulations.
Subject to cosmetic restriction VI/14 in the EU; approved up to 10% concentration in the EU but not approved for use in the US under current FDA regulations.
