Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax is a vegetable wax derived from the leaves and leaf buds of the Brazilian tropical palm tree Copernicia cerifera (Palmaceae), with CAS # 8015-86-9. It is the hardest known natural wax, with a high melting point of around 85°C and a high-gloss finish. It is used in cosmetic formulations to stabilize products, add body, and keep stick-type formulas solid. It is particularly well-suited for lip products due to its hardness and gloss properties.
