Ceresin

Ceresin is a hydrocarbon wax produced by the purification of ozokerite (a naturally occurring mineral wax) using sulfuric acid and filtration through bone black to form waxy cakes. It is chemically a complex combination of hydrocarbons. It is primarily used in stick-type cosmetic products to provide structure and solidity. Its CosIng-listed functions include antistatic, binding, emulsion stabilising, hair conditioning, opacifying, and viscosity controlling.

● Benefits

Ceresin helps keep stick-format products (such as lipsticks, concealers, and sun sticks) firm and well-structured. It also contributes to emulsion stability and can provide an occlusive barrier effect on the skin surface.
