Butyloctyl Salicylate

Butyloctyl Salicylate (CAS #190085-41-7) is the 2-butyloctyl ester of salicylic acid (benzoic acid, 2-hydroxy-, 2-butyloctyl ester). It is a multi-functional helper ingredient used primarily in sunscreen formulations, where it acts as a solvent for UV-filters such as Oxybenzone and Avobenzone.
