Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2 is a thick, paste-like emollient ester derived from hexanedioic acid (adipic acid) and a mixture of fatty acids including octanoic, decanoic, isooctadecanoic, octadecanoic, and 12-hydroxyoctadecanoic acids. It is marketed as a vegetable-derived alternative to lanolin. It is registered under CAS #82249-33-0 and EC #406-144-4, and is officially classified by CosIng as an emollient and skin conditioning agent.
