Arachidyl Glucoside
Arachidyl Glucoside is a compound formed by attaching the water-loving sugar molecule glucose to an oil-loving 20-carbon fatty chain, making it partly water- and partly oil-soluble. It functions primarily as an emulsifier, helping oil and water to mix in formulations. It most commonly appears in formulas alongside Arachidyl Alcohol and Behenyl Alcohol as part of the emulsifier trio trade-named Montanov 202. Its CosIng-listed functions are emulsifying and surfactant/cleansing.
As part of the Montanov 202 emulsifier system, it is described by its manufacturer as imparting a unique evanescent, light feel with a matte finish, leaving skin soft but not oily. It is noted to be hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, making it suitable for both oily and sensitive skin formulas.
