Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer (trade name: Aristoflex AVC) is a copolymer of ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate and vinylpyrrolidone monomers. It functions primarily as a viscosity-controlling agent, helping to create gel-like textures in cosmetic formulations. It is used as a texturizer and thickener for oil-in-water emulsions, typically at concentrations of 0.5–1.2%, and works over a wide pH range.
