Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is a synthetic polymer (large molecule built from repeated monomers) that is a relative of Carbomer, sharing acrylic acid units but also containing hydrophobic monomers. This dual water- and oil-loving character allows it to function both as a thickener and as an emulsion stabilizer. It is widely used in gel-type formulas that contain an oil phase, and is compatible with most cleansing agents, making it common in cleansers as well.
Primarily serves as a viscosity controller (thickener) and emulsion stabilizer in cosmetic formulations. Its amphiphilic nature makes it effective in gel-cream and cleanser formats where other thickeners may fail. It also provides film-forming properties according to its official CosIng functions.
