Acrylate/C10 -30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is a synthetic polymer (large molecule built from repeated monomers) that contains both acrylic acid units and hydrophobic alkyl monomers, making it partly water-loving and partly oil-loving. It is closely related to Carbomer but, unlike Carbomer, its hydrophobic components allow it to function as both a thickener and an emulsion stabilizer. It is widely used in gel-type formulas that contain an oil phase, as well as in cleansers, because it is compatible with most cleansing agents.
Primarily functions as a viscosity controller (thickener) and emulsion stabilizer in cosmetic formulations. Its dual hydrophilic/hydrophobic character makes it effective in gel-cream and cleanser systems where many other thickeners fail. It also provides film-forming properties according to its official CosIng functions.
